Real Madrid coach Zidane: If you think our season is over, congratulations...!

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane joked Friday that he was "jinxed" as his team comes under attack for their misfiring start to this season's la Liga campaign.

Ceballos was reported to have been frustrated, after Zidane left him on the bench, as Madrid were beaten 1-0 at his former club, Real Betis, on Wednesday night.

After a goalless first half, in which both sides had hit the woodwork, Yannick Carrasco opened the scoring in the 46th minute.

Atletico Madrid moved up to second in La Liga and within a point of Barcelona after beating Sevilla 2-0 at the Wanda Metropilitano stadium.

Barcelona loanee Munir crossed the ball in for Garcia and the Alaves skipper made no mistake directing a close-range header past Navas off the underside of the bar.

Ceballos received a pass from Marco Asensio, fought through a tackle, and shot just inside the post for the opener.

"The game is Real Madrid against Alaves".

Sergio Ramos almost doubled the visitors' lead after Cristiano Ronaldo cleverly chipped a free kick into the box, but the unmarked defender had his header saved. Just three minutes after the equaliser, Ceballos struck again, with Pacheco failing to clear the initial chance.

Ramos did have the ball in the back of the Alaves net moments later, but the centre-back's header was chalked off by the referee following a foul inside the home side's penalty box.

Cristiano Ronaldo is back, and played in the defeat against Real Betis, but will be hoping for more success this afternoon.

Pacheco made two super saves to deny Vazquez and Ronaldo in the final 10 minutes, but 2-1 was how it finished as Real Madrid returned to winning ways against an Alaves side that have now lost all six of their league matches this season. Alaves, meanwhile, are next in La Liga action away to Levante next weekend.
