Dera headquarters search: More secrets of Gurmeet Ram Rahim exposed

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was convicted in two rape cases of 2002 by a CBI special court in Panchkula on August 25.

In yet another sensational development, the security forces, busy carrying out search operations inside the Dera premises of the jailed rapist baba, Gurmeet Singh, on Saturday found an illegal explosive factory.

An ugly fight is all set to break out between the governments of Punjab and Haryana over security given to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh before he was taken into custody on August 25 after being convicted of rape. The factory has been sealed and a forensic team is examining the nature of the explosives. No unauthorized person was being allowed to go inside the Dera premises.

The woman, who had dared to complain against Ram Rahim, had alleged that she had been sexually exploited by the Dera chief after being called there.

In December a year ago, dera head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh inaugurated the new global skin bank in the Shah Satnam Speciality Hospital.

The search operation began amid tight security and curfew in the area on Friday morning.

The Haryana police had earlier sent a team to Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh bordering Nepal in search of Honeypreet, a close confidante of the self-styled godman who is serving a 20-year-old jail term for raping two disciples. The Dera headquarters also houses a 7-star MSG Resort and has a replica of the Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Kremlin and Disney World inside its premises, with flashy pictures of Ram Rahim adorning the campus' walls.

The government official also said an unregistered Lexus, demonetised notes, and cash were seized from the Dera headquarters.

The Haryana government on Sunday completed search operation at Dera Sacha Sauda headquarter in Sirsa.

The local administration had banned mobile Internet services, including SMSes, in Sirsa district till September 10.

To which, the Court agreed and appointed retired District and Sessions Judge AKS Pawar to supervise the entire search operation.

The Haryana Police had earlier said that it was in touch with its counterparts in other states and was hopeful that Honeypreet and Aditya Insan, another key aide of the Dera head, would soon be found. 38 people were killed and around 250 injured in the violence.
