The event is scheduled to be held at Steve Jobs Theater in the newly-opened Apple Park campus, reports the Verge.

Apple will host the event at its new "Spaceship" campus in California. The phone could be offered with 64GB, 256GB and 512GB of native storage, and rumors have the handset priced in the range of $1,000 to $1,400.

Apple's invitation seemed to hint that something colorful is in store as it presented a multi-hued depiction of the company's famous logo.

As always, expect to see the new iPhone revealed, with the smart money on two new iPhone 8 handsets and a special edition model, which may be tied to the 10th anniversary of the iPhone. In addition, it could also bring in wireless charging capabilities. There will also be an infrared sensor that will let users unlock the device using face recognition even in low light situations. This was first seen on the iPhone 4.

US-based Apple is all set to unveil the latest versions of its iPhone on September 12, in addition to rolling out updates to the Apple Watch, Apple TV, and iOS. However, as there is no official confirmation on it, we might have to wait for a few more leaks prior to the main event to arrive at more conclusions. Apple first announced the iOS 11 and High Sierra software in June of this year, at its annual developers conference, but it's been rolling it out in phases to app developers.
