Micromax Canvas Infinity with 5.7-inch 18:9 display launched in India

The phone will go on sale on Amazon starting September 1. Although the press invite doesn't mention the name of the smartphone, by the tagline which notes - let's put a number to infinity confirms the coming of the Micromax Canvas Infinity.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Micromax Canvas Infinity comes equipped with a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio. The device features compact body and has a screen to body ratio of 83 per cent.

Micromax Canvas Infinity comes with a 13 Megapixel rear camera with LED flash.

While the Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, and OTG support up to 64GB.

The battery of Micromax Canvas Infinity is powerful and of 2900mAh that is rated to offer talk time of 20 hours and standby time of 420 hours.

While the other details about the Canvas Infinity are not known, it is believed to be a high-end device with a Qualcomm processor operating under its hood.

On the imaging front, this phone is mounted with 13MP Rear Camera with LED Flash, f/2.0 apertue with Real Time Bokeh effect, Face Beauty Mode, Auto Scene Detection feature and 1080p video recording capability.

Other than the focus on cutting down on bezels, Micromax is also hoping to attract selfie lovers with a 16MP front-facing camera.

Micromax in an event in New Delhi launched the Canvas Infinity, a phone resembling the LG Q6 in the bezel-less display department. The 2900 mAH Li-ion battery does support fast charging capability (10W) via micro USB port. Besides this, the company also announced a 24-hour service promise to fix the device.

Micromax joins the Infinity display bandwagon with the Micromax Canvas Infinity and brings the 18:9 display technology to sub Rs. 10,000 price point.

Micromax was one of the biggest home-grown brands when it comes to the Indian smartphone industry. The power-key button and volume up-down keys are all placed on the right-hand edge of the device and a 3.5mm audio jack is placed on the very top edge of the phone.
