Microsoft Claims to Be 'Talking to Sony' About Playing Nice

Posted August 24, 2017

The revelation was made by Microsoft's head of games marketing Aaron Greenberg during Gamescom, who noted that the pair were in talks to make Minecraft available to play online across the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. And since all Xbox One X games will be playable on the original Xbox One, it loses the edge of console exclusives.

The Xbox One X is going to be the most powerful console on the market this fall.

Greenberg's Minecraft comment refers to Sony's noticeable absence from the brick building phenomenon's recently announced "Better Together" update, which unites the Microsoft-owned property across Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, mobile and VR versions.

So far, Microsoft has announced that approximately 100 games from its existing catalog will have 4K updates available including Halo 5, Halo Wars 2, Forza Motorspot 7, Fallout 4, National Basketball Association 2K18, Project Cars 2, Rocket League, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Copy the settings on this Xbox to an external storage device. As well as confirming which games would run better on the new hardware, Microsoft also announced that a special edition of the console would be available to pre-order - the "Project Scorpio" edition. Buyers also get a Blu-Ray drive in the packaging.

Microsoft announced via their support Twitter page that they are aware of the outages, and are now investigating.

All the optimizations come under the "Xbox One X Enhanced" program. Looks like fans are very eager to see what Microsoft's upgraded console is really capable of, because according to an article from Forbes, the Xbox One X appears to have already sold out everywhere. It will support 4K video, with 8 million pixels and high-dynamic range (HDR).

"We are counting down to the launch of Xbox One X later this year and look forward to getting the world's most powerful console into the hands of our fans".
