Anthony Scaramucci calls for Federal Bureau of Investigation and DOJ inquiry of 'leak,' cites Priebus

Posted July 27, 2017

Then Scaramucci deleted the tweet, and in a new tweet said that assumption was "wrong!"

Asked what he meant by including Priebus, Scaramucci said, "If Reince wants to explain he's not the leaker, he can do that".

White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci attends a news conference in the James Brady Press Briefing Room of the White House after former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer resigned, in Washington, DC, July 21, 2017. This morning, he called into Chris Cuomo's CNN show and completely melted down. And also, "as you know from the Italian expression, the fish stinks from the head down". And I can tell you when I go home and talk to people in my district, they don't care about all this stuff.

Scaramucci's financial disclosure wasn't leaked at all. This West Wing is a very small place.

He also claimed the leaks amounted to a treasonous crime that 150 years ago would have resulted in punishment by death.

"I think the most important part of Anthony's tweet was when he talked about the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the DOJ".

The inclusion of Reince in the tweet was seen by some as an accusation. The documents are publicly available on request. CNN has not independently obtained the disclosure form.

Priebus told The Associated Press last week that he supports Scaramucci "100 percent", despite reportedly trying to prevent Scaramucci from getting an administration position.

This echoes a tweet he sent overnight as well.

"Wrong! Tweet was public notice to leakers that all Sr Adm officials are helping to end illegal leaks.@Reince45", he tweeted in response to an Axios article's headline that read, "Scaramucci appears to want Priebus investigated by FBI".

Speaking on CNN Thursday morning, Scaramucci was more explicit about his tweet. It reported that Scaramucci still stands to profit from his stake in SkyBridge Capital as he takes his new post.

Referring to his remarks last week that he and Priebus were like brothers, he elaborated.

"I don't know if the relationship with Reince is reparable...that's up to the President", Scaramucci said. There's a lot of people in here who have brothers, and so you get that.
