Huawei teams up with KFC to release a new smartphone

The new terminal will be launched under the name of KFC Huawei 7 Plus, which is an inexistent name at the moment.

"KFC and Colonel Sanders have been American pop culture icons for more than 70 years", Steve Kelly, KFC U.S. director of media and digital, said in a press release.

KFC and Huawei have become the symbols of the rapid development of China over the past 30 years.

While the items online now are all limited edition, the brand also noted that they're planning further product rollouts and collaborations in the future. Brands, announced the special edition Huawei phone on its Weibo page. However, the fast food chain is hugely popular in China, and it's the largest restaurant chain in the country thousands of locations. KFC has been through a lot in China these past several years, but it certainly has a lot to celebrate now, given that it appears to have weathered the storm caused by food handling allegations levied against its suppliers in China, among other issues.

Shenzhen telecommunications company Huawei was also founded in 1987.

The phone is equipped with a 5-inch LCD display panel with a resolution of 1,280 by 720 pixels. In addition to it, the phone will come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal flash memory. With it, you can create and share playlists at KFC restaurants.

The phone, named the KFC Huawei 7 Plus, comes with red casing and features an outline of the Colonel's face on the back.

It comes pre-loaded with KFC's K-music app, which lets you choose the songs you want to hear in the KFC store of your choice, sort of like a portable jukebox.
