Posted June 29, 2017

The Aston Martin Vantage AMR is available in both coupe and convertible forms, with 100 V12 and 200 V8 models being made available. It gets the option of special paint schemes - white and orange, black and blue, blue and red or silver and grey.

Named after the Aston Martin Racing motorsport department, AMR aims to enhance Aston Martin's already impressive lineup with various performance upgrades as well as design and luxury treatments.

You can choose from either a seven speed manual transmission or Aston Martin's automated sequential manual paddle-shift transmissions.

Aston Martin has unveiled the first sports auto sub-brand AMR, which was announced in March at the Geneva motor show. However, an carbon fibre AMR Aero Kit is available on coupé models and adds a front splitter, canards, carbon side sills and a large rear wing.

The auto maker will be producing 100 units of the auto with a V12 engine and 200 units of the auto with a V8 engine and the vehicle takes its design inspiration from the FIA World Championship victor V8 Vantage GTE.

Aston Martin will present the Vantage AMR at the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans running June 17-18.

But the AMR package is really about aesthetics, so both versions are to offered in four exterior "schemes", each with corresponding graphics and interior trim packages. There is also a choice of three different finishes for the V8 Vantage AMR's five-spoke alloy wheels and the V12 Vantage AMR's 10-spoke alloy wheels.

The 4.7-litre V8 AMR produces the same 430bhp as the regular V8 Vantage.

The AMR Accessories range offers customers the chance to further personalise their vehicle. Power goes to the rear wheels through a choice of automatic or manual transmissions, which could make the AMR the last series production vehicle offered with a manual transmission and naturally aspirated twelve cylinder engine. (Aston Martin is competing in the GTE class with a Vantage-based race auto.) Deliveries are scheduled to commence in late 2017 and customers will be able to choose from either of the Vantage's coupe or convertible body styles.
